CAMPING IN THE LIVING JUNGLE

A short, intense, and authentic Amazon experience.
Over 3 days, you’ll navigate rivers and lakes, set up your own camp, explore Lake Soco, and connect with the Puerto Rico indigenous community. Jungle, culture, and adventure in their purest form.
DAY 1

7:00 am Departure from Leticia port, navigating the Amazon River towards Puerto Nariño.

Meet your local guide and continue along the Loretoyacu River to the Puerto Rico indigenous community (~1.5 hours).

Welcome by the community and preparation of camping gear.

Navigation across Lake Soco to the campsite.

Set up camp and install your hammock with mosquito net while learning jungle camping techniques.

Prepare lunch in the jungle.

Lake exploration for birdwatching and possible sighting of the pirarucu, one of the largest Amazon fish.

Return to camp for dinner.

Optional night exploration on the lake to experience jungle sounds.

Rest.
DAY 2

Breakfast in the jungle.

Artisanal fishing on the lake (if successful, the catch may be prepared for lunch or dinner).

Return by boat to the Puerto Rico community.

Lunch prepared by a local cook.
-
Short 15-minute walk to Capibara Forest Lodge.

Accommodation in a hammock with mosquito net (basic facilities, no electricity).

Handicraft workshop with community artisans.
-
Night jungle walk for insect observation.

Return to the lodge for dinner prepared in a traditional open-air kitchen.

Rest.
DAY 3
-
Breakfast at the lodge.

Farewell at the community and boat transfer to Puerto Nariño.

Stop along the river for possible pink and gray dolphin sightings.

Arrival in Puerto Nariño, town tour including the viewpoint, Natütama Museum, and Amazon fruit ice cream.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

Public boat to Leticia (~2 hours).
-
End of the tour at Leticia port at 5:30 pm.
